American Structurepoint’s Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Tampa, FL! As a Road Intern, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for FDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Florida. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects

Responsibilities

Responsibilities in our Transportation Design Groups (Road, Bridge, Traffic)

  • Contribute to roadway designs, lay out alignments, and create typical sections, site assessment and engineering report development.
  • 3D modeling and work with Microstation/Geopak, AutoCad, Blubeam, Open Bridge, Merlin Dash, Quick Bridge,
  • Different projects would include, Roundabouts, Bridge Replacements and Rehabilitations, Urban Roads, Rural Roads and Large Interstate Improvements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Student majoring in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Survey or Structural Engineering or other related programs with an emphasis on Civil Engineering
  • Reliable transportation to and from office location
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and try new things
