Position: Team Leader

Location: Austin, TX

 

We are seeking a Team Leader to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for a specialized traffic design team within the Traffic Group. The Team Leader manages daily operations, project execution, and staff development while supporting group-wide goals related to quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced traffic design professional with strong communication and organizational skills who thrives in leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a project team responsible for traffic design and production
  • Serve as a day-to-day resource for technical guidance, mentorship, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to allocate resources effectively.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, workload planning, and project progress reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, AASHTO, and company standards on all deliverables.
  • Review and approve project plans, specifications, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in performance reviews and support staff professional development plans.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation.
  • Assist Group Leaders with business development and proposal efforts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in traffic design and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop project teams.
  • Working knowledge of TXDOT and municipal standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
