American Structurepoint’s Investigative/Forensic Engineering Group is seeking an entry-level Staff Engineer in Lisle, IL! In this role, you will spend time working both in the field and in the office Investigating damaged buildings, assessing structural conditions, and designing repair solutions. You’ll work alongside licensed engineers and architects, contribute to technical reports, and use tools like AutoCAD and Revit to create drawings and models.

Responsibilities

What you will do: 

  • Join senior engineers on forensic investigations to figure out how and why structures like buildings or bridges experience damage or deterioration 
  • Help design solutions to repair or restore real-world structures made of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel 
  • Contribute to technical reports that document your findings and support project decisions 
  • Use AutoCAD and/or Revit to create digital drawings and 3D models that bring design ideas to life 
  • Other tasks as needed to support the team 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program (other degrees may be considered with relevant experience) 
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred 
  • FE Certification (E.I.T.) or working towards it is preferred 
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable person vehicle for transportation to and from the office or project sites 
  • Strong work ethic and a growth mindsetyou’re eager to learn, try new things, and take initiative 
  • Ability/willingness to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolding, work from heights, walk roofs, access crawl spaces and other areas of limited accessibility
