  • Overview

    We are looking for an experienced engineer and hands on manager to direct and develop investigative/forensic engineering projects in the Ohio market. This person will have an entrepreneurial spirit and will be responsible for managing a variety of projects, managing and developing staff, and developing business.



    Primary responsibilities will include performing a wide range of forensic investigations related to damage and deterioration of structures as well as facility condition assessment studies for a variety of clients.  The work includes evaluations of commercial, residential, industrial and municipal facilities.  The position requires direct daily contact with clients and staff in addition to the production of technical reports.  Therefore, superior oral and written communication skills are a must.  Applicants must possess experience in or the desire to learn the evaluation of entire structures (from foundations to roofing) as well as the investigation of failures and building problems.  Position requires frequent local and occasional regional travel. This Director of Investigative Project Development will be expected to manage profits, delegate tasks effectively, mentor staff, lead quality control efforts, and help recruit and maintain a positive and motivated staff. In this position you will also be responsible for driving client satisfaction, participating in proposals and presentations, and providing technical expertise while working in conjunction with our business development staff. In partnership with the Investigative Group Leader, this Director will be responsible for helping to define a business plan to execute work, along with a plan on how to grow and develop new business in the Ohio market.



    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (MSCE Preferred) from an accredited engineering school; Other degrees will be considered based on relevant experience
    • Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio or eligible for licensure
    • 10+ years’ experience


    Desirable Past Experience:

    • Investigative/Forensic engineering evaluations
    • Structural/building design
    • Developing & maintaining client relationships
    • Writing technical reports
    • AutoCAD and/or Revit


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift or move objects weighting up to 50 lbs
    • Ability/willingness to climb ladders and scaffolding, work from heights, walk roofs, access crawl spaces and other areas of limited accessibility
